Bruce Lambert was born in Manchester in 1971, where he studied photography before beginning his career as a news and features photographer.

In the early 2000s he moved into television, working as a director for all major UK and international broadcasters.

He has won two Royal Television Society awards before founding Gripped Communications, a production company creating films for some of the world’s most innovative companies, brands and charities.

He now returns to photography, coming full circle to the medium where he first began.

Working primarily in black and white, he is drawn to its clarity, atmosphere and restraint - and to the way it allows light, gesture, structure and human presence to come forward without distraction.

His work is rooted in long-term documentary observation and is often drawn to people, places and ways of life that exist slightly outside the centre of attention.

Through projects shaped by time, trust and repeated return, he is interested in routine, resilience, identity and the quiet ways people make meaning within overlooked, changing or exposed environments.
